E-mail Russian bride scams are the Eurasian advance-fee fraud equivalent of the Nigerian 419 scams. They both share a love for Babelfish-like horrendous translation and gripping narrative. The "sexy", grainy & amateurish picture of some random woman is a treat in itself and well worth a thousand (badly translated) words.
