Because it is a standard Spip feature, my website has been offering a RSS feed for many years but I had not put any thought in it until now. I have recently installed Feedreader , a simple RSS feed reader. This enabled me to better understand and appreciate RSS technology. I have since subscribed to many RSS feeds from my favorite websites and this helped me to stay informed of any changes on these sites as well as the ability to read them at my leisure on the train back home. This also helped me realize how inefficient the way I had been handling RSS until now.
So I updated my RSS template to improve the layout (including constraining the page thumbnail to a certain size) and to enable me to specify a language and section. Interested Spip users can download this template from here and adapt it tp their own needs.
I then subscribed to FeedBurner.com, a free RSS feed distribution service recently purchased by Google. Using Feedburner will allow me to have usage statistcs from my RSS feeds, something I was not able to get either from my Spip or Xiti statistics. I then registered a feed for all my articles in English and another for all my articles in French. I will also create other feeds as the need arises. I then listed these feeds on my new RSS page for easy access.
Now you can go ahead and subscribe to my RSS feeds and stay informed of all my projects and reviews!
