He’s back from the ’80’s and he’s mad as hell! ’Nuff said!
As a Nurun Inc. employee, I have been assigned as project manager for many web projects for W.L Gore & Associates, the makers of the famous GORE-TEX® brand of high-performance fabrics. The biggest project I have worked on so far this year has been the redesign of the websites of their GORE BIKE WEAR™ and GORE RUNNING WEAR™ sportswear brands.
Through these two greatly entertaining novels, McMurtry chronicles the adventures of Gus McRay and Woodrow Call before the events described in Lonesome Dove. We follow their progression from their first hapless missions as junior Texas Rangers up to their retirement from rangering as seasoned and highly-effective veterans of a grueling series of Indian wars.
In this 3 page black-and-white silent comic reminiscent of my 1995 comic “Gerbilman” (hence of the Batman TV series from the 60’s), two overworked super-heroes go from one super-crisis to another until they can no longer bear the pressure.
Playing Bookworm Adventure with a child is a great way to stimulate interest in correct spelling, have fun building long words and develop self-esteem. Here are some great tips from my own experience playing Bookworm Adventure with my 10 year old boy.

A hard, moody, sumptuous, techno-rock barrage of heavy riffs from a 6-member all-guitar & bass band, propelled by the incredibly powerful voice of Béatrice Bonifassi and the energetic direction and keyboard magic of Maxime Morin – alias DJ Champion.
Even if the Arbiter had yet to make it’s first on-screen appearance, these three Machinima comedy shorts from John Graham are just as hilarious (or even more!) as the more recent episodes.
Master Chief likes to spend all day playing video games (very badly), going online to lolcats.com and watch pr0n. He is also an action figure based on the famous character from the Halo series. His daily routine is disturbed by the unexpected delivery of The Arbiter, another action figure with more common sense, courtesy and spelling skills than his grammatically-challenged and homophobic roommate. Through these unexpectedly endearing characters, the author spoofs typical abusive and stupid gamer behavior and offers insightful critiques of popular video games.
I recently finished watching the excellent Extended edition of the Lord of the Ring trilogy on DVD. What better way to honor this masterpiece than by watching this memorable excerpt from the 2003 MTV awards where Gollum himself picks up the award for Best Virtual Performance and "thanks" MTV, Andy Serkis, Peter Jackson and his team for his miserable experience shooting the movie by hurling angry, obscene abuse to all of them.
